Introduction to Stainless Steel Linear Floor Drains

Linear floor drains, in addition to their minimalist and concealed appearance from an architectural perspective, provide faster water drainage. In these drains, water collects along the length of the drain, giving it a greater capacity to receive and discharge water.
These drains are manufactured in three types: tile-insert, stone-insert, and grated linear drains.

what is Linear Floor Drain?

A linear floor drain is one of the newest types of floor drains available on the market. Stainless steel linear drains are durable and resistant to prolonged exposure to sunlight, corrosion, and rust. They have a rectangular shape and are generally manufactured in a fixed width and various lengths, depending on tile dimensions and customer requirements.A linear floor drain is one of the newest types of floor drains available on the market. Linear Floor Drain Dimensions Guide

Linear drains are designed and manufactured by Stilo Industrial Group in thicknesses of 1 mm and 1.5 mm, using 304 and 316 stainless steel, with fixed widths of 7 cm and 7.5 cm, respectively. The length of linear drains starts from 20 cm and extends up to 120 cm, depending on customer requirements, and standard sizes are also available.

Linear Floor Drain Installation Guide

To install the ceramic-insert linear floor drain, the installer should first attach the cut piece of ceramic tile to the cover. In this type of floor drain, the cover is designed with a space within its frame for the ceramic tile to be securely bonded. This feature allows the drain to be used in two configurations: either as a ceramic-insert floor drain or as a Model 1000 grid floor drain, both of which can be used as needed.

To install a linear floor drain, the first step is to choose a suitable location for placing the drain. Usually, a location near the door is a suitable choice.

Other important installation considerations include connecting the floor drain outlet to the drainage pipe, ensuring proper waterproofing during floor installation, as well as creating the appropriate slope and water drainage path during the flooring process.

Please note that the drain itself is not sufficient to properly direct water to the building’s wastewater system or drainage pit. To ensure proper water drainage from the building, it is important to prevent water from penetrating beneath the floor and to ensure that the floor slopes toward the drain.

For frameless stainless steel grated linear drains, the tile is not attached to the cover frame. The perforated cover helps increase the speed of water drainage from the surface of bathrooms, toilets, and other areas.

In general, linear floor drains are among the latest floor drain designs worldwide and are widely used in minimalist home interiors. If you are someone who prefers building fixtures not to be visible and wants them to remain as concealed as possible, the stainless steel linear floor drain, especially the tile-insert model, is designed for you.
If you enjoy appreciating the details of your workplace, home, or building and want to coordinate them with your personal style, the stainless steel linear floor drain is an elegant and suitable choice for you.
